Cleaning Your PC

Most people don’t know that when they delete things from their computer it really isn’t gone. This includes passwords and records of where they went while browsing the web. Cleaning these items manually isn’t difficult, just knowing where to go to clean them and how to do is what is confusing, but there is an easy answer. CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) is freeware and is easy to use. All you have to do is set it up right, and from then on,it is just a couple of clicks and you are done!

What it cleans is a litany of things that are left over from casual computer use, and it cleans very well. When you install it, the default settings are good, but to totally wipe what it cleans, you have to go to Options, then Settings and choose Secure file Deletion and choose DOD 5220.22-M This IS slow, but what it does is delete all of the things that you select, and overwrite them 3 times with random characters. What this does is it makes it impossible to recover the things that you delete with commercially available software recovery programs.
